Carpet Cleaners Clapham Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaners Clapham provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial clients in the United Kingdom. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Company means Carpet Cleaners Clapham, the provider of the cleaning services.

Client means any individual, partnership, company or organisation that requests or receives services from the Company.

Services means any carpet, rug, upholstery, hard floor, or related cleaning service, as described in the booking confirmation or service description provided by the Company.

Premises means the property or location at which the Services are to be carried out.

Booking means a confirmed request for Services made by the Client and accepted by the Company.

2. Scope of Services

The Company will provide the Services with reasonable skill and care, using appropriate cleaning methods and products in line with industry standards. The exact scope of work, including the type of cleaning, the areas to be cleaned and any additional tasks, will be agreed at the time of Booking.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that the description of the Premises and the items to be cleaned, such as carpets, rugs, and upholstery, is accurate. The Company reserves the right to adjust a quotation or charge additional fees if the information provided by the Client is incomplete or inaccurate.

3. Booking Process

Bookings may be requested by the Client through the Company’s chosen communication channels and are subject to availability. A Booking is only confirmed when the Company has accepted the request and provided confirmation to the Client, which may include the agreed date, time, location and price.

The Client must provide full and accurate details at the time of booking, including access instructions, parking information, and any special requirements. The Company may request photographs or additional information regarding the areas or items to be cleaned in order to provide an accurate quotation and determine suitability of the Services.

The Company reserves the right to decline a Booking or to cancel a Booking where it reasonably considers the Premises to be unsafe, unsuitable for the Services, or outside the normal service area.

4. Pricing and Quotations

Prices for the Services may be provided as fixed fees, hourly rates or estimates based on the information supplied by the Client. All prices are stated in pounds sterling and are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise indicated.

Any quotation provided by the Company is based on the information available at the time and on normal working conditions. If, upon arrival at the Premises, the Company discovers that the work required is substantially different in size, condition or complexity from that described by the Client, the Company may amend the price or refuse to carry out some or all of the Services.

Additional charges may apply for congestion or parking fees, difficult access, heavily soiled areas, stain treatment, or for work outside standard operating hours, where this has not already been taken into account in the initial quotation.

5. Payments and Invoicing

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for the Services is due on completion of the work on the day of service. For certain bookings, including larger or repeated services, the Company may require a deposit or advance payment. Any deposit amount and due date will be communicated to the Client in advance.

The Company may accept various methods of payment, such as card payments, bank transfer or other cashless methods, as communicated to the Client. The Client is responsible for ensuring that full payment is made on time and in cleared funds.

For commercial or account Clients, payment terms may be agreed separately and will be stated on the invoice. Late payment may incur interest and administrative charges in accordance with applicable law. The Company reserves the right to suspend or cancel future services where outstanding amounts remain unpaid.

6. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Access

If the Client wishes to cancel or reschedule a Booking, the Client must provide notice to the Company within the minimum notice period specified at the time of booking. Where no specific period is stated, the Client must give at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled start time.

The Company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, which may be up to the full amount of the booked service, for cancellations made with insufficient notice or for failure to provide access to the Premises at the agreed time. If the Company team is unable to commence work due to lack of access, health and safety concerns, or incorrect information provided by the Client, this may be treated as a late cancellation.

The Company will make reasonable efforts to attend at the agreed time but cannot be held liable for delays or failure to attend caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including traffic, adverse weather or other unforeseen events. In such cases, the Company will offer to reschedule the Booking at the earliest mutually convenient time.

7. Client Obligations and Preparation

The Client must ensure that the Premises are safe and accessible for the performance of the Services. This includes arranging suitable parking where needed and informing the Company of any restrictions, such as controlled parking zones or limited access areas.

The Client should remove fragile items, valuables, breakables and personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned and should secure any pets. The Company is not responsible for any damage to items that were not removed or secured, where such damage arises from normal and proper performance of the Services.

The Client must notify the Company of any pre existing damage, staining, wear, loose fittings, fraying or other defects related to carpets, rugs, upholstery or flooring before the Services commence. This includes providing information about previous cleaning treatments or the use of home cleaning products that may affect the outcome of the Services.

8. Cleaning Results and Limitations

The Company will use suitable professional methods and products in an effort to achieve the best possible cleaning results. However, due to the nature of certain stains, wear and materials, the Company cannot guarantee that all stains will be removed or that specific results will be achieved.

Some stains may be permanent, particularly where they involve dyes, pet substances, paint, or have been set by time or previous incorrect cleaning attempts. The Client acknowledges that cleaning may reveal previously hidden wear, damage or colour loss, especially on older or heavily soiled carpets and upholstery.

Any estimated drying times for carpets or upholstery are approximate and may vary depending on ventilation, room temperature, humidity and type of material. The Client is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation and for limiting foot traffic on cleaned areas until they are fully dry.

9. Damage, Liability and Insurance

The Company will take reasonable care while working on the Premises. In the unlikely event that damage occurs due to the negligence of the Company, the Company will, at its option, repair the damage, reimburse the Client for the cost of repair, or replace the damaged item, subject to fair wear and tear and the age and condition of the item.

The Company’s total liability to the Client, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, arising in connection with the provision of the Services, shall not exceed the total price paid or payable by the Client for the specific Booking giving rise to the claim, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

The Company is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of use, or loss of enjoyment. The Company is also not liable for pre existing damage or for damage arising from defects, wear, improper installation, or items that are unsuitable for the chosen cleaning method.

The Company maintains appropriate insurance cover in respect of its legal liabilities. Details of such insurance can be provided on request.

10. Waste Handling and Environmental Compliance

The Company will handle and dispose of any waste arising from the Services in compliance with applicable UK waste and environmental regulations. This may include the safe handling of contaminated water, residues or disposable materials used during the cleaning process.

Unless expressly agreed, the Company’s Services do not include general household waste removal or disposal of items such as furniture, electrical goods or bulky items. Where the Services require the removal of limited quantities of waste directly created by the cleaning process, the Company will ensure such waste is managed and disposed of responsibly.

The Client must not request the Company’s staff to remove or dispose of waste in a manner that would breach any law or regulation. The Company reserves the right to refuse to handle materials that it considers hazardous or inappropriate, including but not limited to asbestos, clinical waste or chemical substances not supplied by the Company.

11. Health, Safety and Conduct

The Company is committed to operating in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations. The Client agrees to provide a safe working environment and to inform the Company of any known hazards at the Premises, such as loose wiring, damaged flooring or restricted ventilation.

The Client must treat the Company’s staff with respect and must not subject them to abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour. The Company reserves the right to withdraw its staff and terminate a visit where it reasonably believes that their safety or wellbeing is at risk, and to charge the Client for any part of the Service already carried out.

12. Complaints and Service Issues

If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, the Client must notify the Company as soon as reasonably possible, ideally within 24 hours of completion. The Company will investigate any complaint and, where appropriate, may arrange for a revisit or other remedial action.

The Client must allow the Company the opportunity to inspect and rectify any issues before undertaking repairs or commissioning a third party. Failure to do so may limit or extinguish any liability the Company may otherwise have had in respect of the issue.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

The Company may collect and use certain personal information from the Client for the purpose of handling enquiries, managing Bookings, delivering the Services and maintaining records. The Company will process personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and will only retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes.

The Company will not sell the Client’s personal data to third parties. Personal data may be shared with trusted service providers where necessary to perform the Services or to comply with legal obligations.

14. Variations to Terms

The Company may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any updated version will apply to new Bookings made after the date of publication of the amendments. The terms in force at the time of a confirmed Booking will govern that Booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any non contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of the Services, including any question regarding their existence, validity or termination.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by a court or competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, such provision shall be treated as deleted, but that shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation or booking confirmation provided by the Company, constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Client in relation to the Services and supersede all previous discussions, correspondence, negotiations or understandings.
